Since 1998, Hudson has
been responsible for developing creative advertising,
packaging, merchandising and promotional programs which
have been highly effective in driving volume growth.
Driven largely by innovation, PCNA was the industry’s
fastest-growing total beverage company in 2001,
outpacing its primary competitor in volume and share
gains.
"Dawn is extremely
talented, versatile and attuned to the
marketplace," said Rodkin. "She understands
our customers and consumers, and has developed a
tremendous rapport with our bottlers. With Dawn at the
helm, PCNA will be in great hands."
Jim Dwyer, 43, has been
named president of Tropicana North America. In his
previous role as PepsiCo senior vice president of merger
integration, Dwyer led worldwide efforts to capture cost
and revenue synergies resulting from PepsiCo's
acquisition of The Quaker Oats Company.
"Jim understands
virtually every aspect of Tropicana and will hit the
ground running," said Rodkin. "I look forward
to partnering with him again on this truly great
business."
Prior to the merger,
Dwyer held senior level positions at PepsiCo's Tropicana
division. From February 2000 to July 2001, he served as
senior vice president, North American Commercial
Operations, responsible for planning and delivering
volume and volume related profit for Tropicana’s
largest business unit.
Dwyer succeeds Brock
Leach, who will now lead new special development
projects at PepsiCo and report to Chairman and CEO Steve
Reinemund. Among other responsibilities, Leach will
direct the company’s strategic focus on health and
well-being, in partnership with Dr. Ken Cooper, the
renowned Cooper Clinic and other experts, to broaden
PepsiCo’s offerings of nutritious products and
encourage physical fitness.
Al Carey, 50, has been
named chief operating officer of PepsiCo Beverages and
Foods North America with the sales teams for Quaker,
Tropicana and PCNA reporting to him. Carey will oversee
all sales, customer strategies and go-to-market
initiatives for the combined PCNA, Gatorade, Tropicana
and Quaker businesses. He will work closely with the
presidents of each of those units. In addition to his
new role, Carey will continue to lead "Power of
One" initiatives to leverage the combined strength
of PepsiCo’s beverage and snack divisions worldwide.
"Al has done a
magnificent job realigning PCNA with our bottling system
and has been instrumental in our marketplace success
over the past two years," said Rodkin.
"Leveraging the wealth of experience he’s built
during more than 20 years at PepsiCo across these other
businesses promises even greater results ahead.
"We're bringing
together some of PepsiCo's and Quaker's most capable and
accomplished executives," said Rodkin. "With
their continuing leadership, I am confident we will
build upon the momentum we have established in the
marketplace, finding new, more innovative ways to serve
our bottlers, distributors, retail customers and
consumers."

More about Carey
At PCNA, since the 1999 spin-off of company-owned
bottling operations into The Pepsi Bottling Group, Carey

non-carbonated brands, the fastest-growing part of the
business. Under his stewardship, PCNA has continued to
win new accounts and create significant new business
alliances, including United Airlines, Blimpie
International, Bob’s Big Boy and several regional
