Drink and
Beverage - Definition
Excerpt from Wikipedia,
the free encyclopedia.
Drink
(Redirected from Beverage)
The word drink is primarily a verb,
meaning to ingest liquids. As a noun, it refers to the liquid
thus ingested. It is often used in a narrower sense to refer to
alcoholic beverages (as both a verb and a noun). Drink is also
slang for a body of water, such as an ocean or a water hazard on
a golf course (e.g. "He hit that one into the
drink."). To drink in is also used metaphorically, as in to
drink in the scenery.
Beverage and Beverages
A beverage is a drink specifically
prepared for human consumption. Beverages almost always largely
consist of water. Water is essential for living, significantly
more so than food. Death will usually occur after 1 week without
any liquids but humans have been known to survive some months
without food. Drinks often consumed include: water (both flat or
carbonated), juices, soft drinks, energy drinks, sports and
wellness drinks, alcoholic beverages like beer or spirits as
well as coffee, tea or icetea or dairy products like milk, drinkyogurt or
the famous milkmix beverages.
Commonly, drinks are filled into
containers, like glass or plastic bottles, steel or aluminium
cans as well as cardboard supported packages, like the
"TetraPak" or others... Filling of beverages can be
done cold, hot, ambient and cold-aseptic filling to mention the
latest trend of beverage marketing and technology.
